Can your fire pass the water test

I had an interesting thought I was reading the Bible 1Kings 18-20 this is the story of Elijah and the Prophets of Baal and Elijah running and hiding. I really want to call you r attention to 1Kings 18:33-35 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. Now I am going to pause hear for a second. I want to talk about fire. Fire needs three things a spark, fuel and oxygen to burn but fire also has a few weakness being time and water. Time is weekness because the longer a fire burns the less fuel it has to burn and, water fire can’t burn water but it can be hot enough to evaporator water into a gas form there for rendering useless as a fire retardate. So back to the story in I Kings 18 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. Then the story continues on how God caused it to rain then right in the next chapter Elijah is running away. II Kings 2:11And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. So we see that Elijah the prophet a fire loses a little steam when it rains but is rekindled, I would also like to point out in Matthew 26-31 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? Look at this story Peter had enough Fire to walk out on to the waves and kept it going until he looked at the water and lost some of his fire until God reached out for him but pressing on to ACTS 2 Peter and the apostles became a Fire unto the whole world burning brightly today. But how would the story of Matthew read if Peter never looked away? So my contention and there are more examples in the Bible what if in your walk with God we always say you will be tested by going threw the fire to come out as pure as Gold and there is no doubt about that. But what if out fire is tested as we start to walk on the waters of Time, doubt, Mental instability you name your river but there you are never letting your light go out to phrase a song you burn bright at the at the start and the water is evaporating letting you walk on dry ground but then you start to look around maybe family says you can’t doctor’s or maybe even the Devil, side not the devil would like nothing for you to do better than to have you drop your fire he is afraid of it look at his punishment, back to point your fire starts to lose its heat the waters start to rise, you start to drown, so you call upon the Lord for help and rekindle and burn and be a whole bigger miracles may accor like Elijah and the chariots of fire or do you get on the boat of life and drift away. I can’t say I am better to preach to you my own illnesses and things sometimes make me also lose sight but I have to remember to go back to the source and keep on walking in fire of the holy ghost no matter what the condition is. So I say all of that to say, Can your Fire pass the Water test, what say you?
